BEWARE FREEHOLD DODGE ????

Recommended Posts

My wife dropped off her car the other night , I had called early to make the appointment and tell them what the the issue was. She also had a slow leak in rear tire. Service writer was rude and short with her, asked for the vin# which he went out and got off the car, he logged her in and was asked to sign a paper with no info on what she was signing (mistake #1) She was contacted the next day the service writer stating she needed $2500 in repairs and car was out of warranty!!!!! It’s a 2015 . I then contacted the dealer & spoke with the rude service writer.  I, not being the original owner found out the car was registered in October of 14’ so it’s 3 year coverage was up , ok no problem , this I understand. Repair prices were ridiculous for two lower control arms and 2 hub bearings so I told him ‘fix the flat and wrap it up I’ll do the rest myself. ‘

Here is where the problem begins ... she picks the car up after work , she’s escorted to the cashier where she’s told to pay $140 dollars !!!!!!!   WTF , did she Break something on the way in .

She pays it not knowing if I approved something over the phone, she then asks if the tire was fixed for that price , after a volley of answers from everyone rushing out the door , a snide comment was made by the original writer ‘No , your husband said he was going to fix it and to wrap it up, there’s enough air in there’ ..... tire was flat and the lights shut as she left the door.

Back to first mistake SHE WAS NEVER TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND MADE AWARE OF THE CHARGES FOR DIAGNOSTIC!!!!!!!! If that was explained we would have never wasted their time or ours , I went there today, spoke with the SVC Manager , I made no progress in pointing out the unprofessional business practices. He chalked it up to miscommunication and swore how his writer ALWAYS EXPLAIN to the customer if their car is out of warranty before we take it in.  My wife left in the rain and dark , she drove to the nearest gas station with the flat to fill the tire enough to get home. I didn’t get anywhere being a gentleman so I’ll slander them in the cyber world

BUYER BEWARE  , bunch of crooks , I just read their Facebook page and see they have quite the fan club  Bunch of Scum Bags

thanks for listening

Dealerships such as this make their own bed in my opinion..Happens more than not........Especially with regard to the service departments. Nothing wrong with giving people a heads up Nanuk.

Thanks

Not a good way to run a business that’s for sure. Agree it happens more than it doesn’t.

My dad purchased a dodge nitro from them years ago. At the time, I was a mechanic for GM. I told him of some problems he was having with the radio and inside trim. He brought it to Freehold Dodge and explained to them when the vehicle was only a few months old and still in warranty. They wouldn't fix it telling him it was normal operation. Well just out of warranty a few years later the radio gets worse and the trim breaks off. They refused to fix it. Stay away

It's a shame what was once free now they charge you $80-120 bucks. It is a very common practice now. The days of having that good honest local mechanic are pretty much over.

And people wonder why foreign cars with 10 year 100k mile warranty's sell so well.  My neighbor had the same experience with them, and his Duwrongo only had 70k miles.  His wife got stuck on 33 with 3 kids in the car in early January right after picking the car up from the dealer.  The "problem" they fixed was never fixed.

Flemington Dodge has about the best service I have used.

294,000 on my Ram ( which has the million mile warranty) never an issue with repairs being made under that warranty.

and a loaner car ( part of the warranty) makes drop off and pick up simple

Dealers are my best friend. People take their cars there for an oil change and leave with, quite literally, estimates for thousands of dollars worth of work. They come to me and I fix what really needs to be fixed and sort out the fact from fiction. There is something very wrong with a system where the mechanic, the service writer and the dealer all make money by upselling and a system where a mechanic is encouraged to, and makes more money by, hurrying and cutting corners.

All dealership suck been to a few trying to get out of a bad lease. I tell them I want a used car and to bring my payment down and they all come back with a new lease at the same price. No one listens anymore.

I had a very similar crappy experience with freehold Hyundai. Don’t know if they are owned by the same people but I sure won’t be back. Now I’m adding freehold dodge to that list.

Only reason I went there was cause I thought it was going to be under warranty , I do all my own repairs , my issue is not being told immediately after running my VIN that it wasn’t going to be covered. They stand in front of you with their heads down typing for 10 minutes with no conversation but instead be a nasty azzhole.

Spread the word , it’s my only vengeance, to many customers to rob to worry about my little problem.  I even told the manager, I’m not unreasonable, I’m aware that this all costs money, your new building , fancy uniforms & coffee makers but $140 dollars I’m ok with half ...... he then offered to work with me on the price of repairs , I said do them for half , that is where we parted ways.

I had just leased my 1500 them and turned it back in just a few weeks ago . In that aspect they were easy , zero issues . The truck had free oil changes so I'd drop it off . The last one I got, the truck came back with scratches all over the drivers fender . I lost my stuff . I kept that truck pristine and the scratches were bad . Someone just ran their belt buckle all over it . I called them , they made note of it but that was it . If I owned the truck or planned on keeping it , I would have made a stink over it but it wasn't worth the hassle . Unfortunately that truck was bad luck . Deer ran into it (yes I was stopped) when it had 296 miles on it . The night I got it back from the body shop , the biggest owl I've ever seen decided make one last kamikazi mission into the front of it . So needless to say I knew early on I wasn't keeping it . Lol

Dealerships are tough , sorry you got screwed over , hopefully the repair you do will go easy .

Sometimes they will credit you the diagnostic fee of you get the work done there. Tell him you will bring it back for an alignment after you replace the control arms. See of he credit you toward that. Alignments machines are expensive but once paid off they are all labor no parts so it's a big profit for dealers. If not I would dispute the charge with the credit card company

36y GM Retired Millwright Linden. Name the Problems and Complaints about Dealers and Services heard them all. Even had my share with them.

Worst was with Chevy dealers.Freehold Chevrolet The worst now closed and Freehold Pontiac - Buick. Now GMC Buick.

Being that I worked in Linden and had access to Gm Contacts made dealing with them easier.

Today Dealer complaints are front and Center as Contact numbers for you to make a complaint most in owners manuals.

They all face a shortage of qualified mechanics.

I swear by Oasis  Chevy in Oldbridge.

My daughter just last week noticed a screw in a tire -Simple fix went to Local Tire used to be STS.  were honest as to tell her it did not go all the way in Pust some BS rubber coating $15. later told her the rear Brakes needed replacement She left She knows better and when she went to Oasis Chevy for her Lifetime oil change she was told repair not needed with only 9000 miles since she had the Brakes done by them.

I find them to be very competitive in Repair and Replacement pricing as any independent.

Nanuk contact The manufacture Customer Relations & File a complaint. U will B  be surprised by the response.

When anyone pulls into the Service bay at Oasis you're met by a member ask what was needed they then do walk around taking notes of any damage or Scratches any notes put on the service request.  than escort you to service writer.  if your dealer or mechanic does not do it make the make then make a note of it.

I had a very bad experience with Ciocca over in Allentown.  NEVER.  EVER. AGAIN!

I have to say that anyone living within 20 minutes of Belvedere should be using Accutech Auto for repairs if they need to go somewhere.

Run by two twin brothers who are as honest as the day is long and straight as a die.

I have used them for about 9 years now and after dropping a vehicle off with them I sleep like a baby.
