22-250 ammunition for fox. WHat are you using?

So I am using the Hornady's V-max SSTs in 55 Gr. Love it but it is not perfect for foxes as it often damages the pelt. The entrance is tiny but the exit can be ugly, sometimes 4" in diameter. 

I am thinking to drop it to 40 gr and maybe this would help but its hard to find the 40 gr V-max  in 22-250. 

So what are you using? I need something not too expensive since I am using this gun for groundhogs, fox and coyote and I don't feel like changing the ammo for each critter

I reload mine. But, I'm using a 50 grain bullet in my 22 Hornet.

I was told by the Speer Ballistitian to use a 55gr SBT at 223 speeds, but not more than 3,500.
