Last food plot of the season

I put the last plot in last Saturday.

Winter rye, Winter wheat and clover.

The rye took off running. I will surface broadcast more wheat and rye in a few weeks, but other than that Im done. Time to sit back and wait.

Looking good. Nothing grows faster than rye.

We use a native blend of wildflowers and rye seed mix whenever we need to seed banks we restore or wherever the excavator enters or leaves the river to heal over any marks made by the equipment.  The rye is always growing within a few days and it doesn't seem to matter what month of the year either.  Some of the seeds will sit dormant until spring, but the rye will pop in a few days.

this one is Nj. I switched all my plots to clover and alfalfa in Illinois for spring, summer and fall. For the late season cereal grains with some turnips. The weather has been hot and dry, scorching foodplots the last 2 seasons
