Thoughts on the "protracker" for bow hunters

I never heard of the "trail hook". Looks like something that was short lived.

The concept is clever, but it looks way too bulky and wonky.  If they could get it down to something tiny, I'd consider using it (provided the cost isnt prohibitive).

I'll never forget my first shot with the line and spool set up. after the shot and the line was running out I actually jerked the bow back to set the hook.

When I went for my bow test a long time ago one of the instructors had this.

I wouldn't but anything on my arrow or bolt that could possibly impact flight.  Besides the $600 price tag, you have to carry more shit into the field every time you hunt?  Forget it....

I kind of feel like tracking and recovery (or in best case just walking over to where you saw or heard them drop) is part of the accomplishment anyway....

Yup.  Didn't buy it, but It probably was about the same time that I bought one of those prizm rangefinders, and had a pin set for every 5yds.

I wouldn't use this thing if you paid me. Tracking deer blood trail is part of the fun. I am actually considering not using Rage anymore since they always die in front of me and I never get to track anything   :happywave:
