Surf'ing for Striper and/or Fluke (HELP)

Once the weather warms up (and season for fluke opens), the wife and I would like to get out on Island Beach to do some surf fishing..

 

We tried a few years back and I'm sure we made a fool of ourselves not knowing what the hell we were doing.. Just looking for any recommendations on setups for both striper and fluke when it comes to casting from the beach..

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

land lovers fish from shore. Kidding , Smoking gun is a huge help

For stripers just throw a big piece of clam out there with a 4 to 6 ounce sinker , put it in a rod holder and wait. It can be as simple as that if they are around you should get one good luck
