Crooked rack buck down

Finally got ATV back so I went out with my hunting buddy and we sat. Lots of does running around and no good bucks but across the field I could hear grunts and out come this crooked rack buck chasing does all over the place. After about an hour of him chasing does one of the does gets behind me and he goes after her. He would not stay still long enough for a shot and I really wanted this strange rack for a skull mount. He finally decided to take a rest and was about 25 yards away and I took the shot. Shot looked good and I waited 1 hour before going out to look, found arrow right away good blood and trail across field I seen where he went into the woods so it was a pretty easy track until I went across a stone wall and jumped him. I turned around and left and called son David (BUSHNLO) and we want back 4 hours later. Dave jumped the buck still alive not more that 75 yards from where I last jumped him so we went home and Son David got there at 1st light before us and called saying he found the deer close to where we left him but he was STILL ALIVE. I was already on my way there and was prepared to shoot again and finish him but the deer expired as Dave was waiting for me and when I got there it was already gutted and ready to go home. IT SURE IS GOOD TO HAVE A SON HELPING I never would have gotten that deer out of the woods. I no he is nothing to brag about but after missing the beginning of the season with a broke ATV I figured I would take this odd one because I am not able to get back out until Nov 6. I will work on the skull mount and post it complete in a couple days
