  1. I’m told it will be an auto auction storage site, similar to Manhiem’s on Rt 68. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just went through chlorine lock myself. Chances are your nitrates are high, they will recommend you drain 75% of your water and start over. I refused. Keep shocking. Multiple times a day. It took me close to 60 pounds of shock but it finally broke. Now I am waiting for the chlorine to come back down. Use the strongest shock you can find, liquid chlorine is best since it doesn’t have any stabilizer in it. There is a way to use bleach too, but not positive on the details. Good luck. 3. I plant buckwheat as a salvage plot when I get a late start or if something fails. I also throw it in a mix sometimes with Milo, beans, peas and sunflowers. It’s creates bedding and food. If you get the milo established you can let it stand and they will eat the grain heads late fall/early winter. Buckwheat is also a good soil builder, adds phosphorus and controls weeds as stated earlier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry to high jack the thread, anyone know where I can get a Bing Cherry tree? Lost one over winter and I need to replace. Thanks. Line in Jackson and travel all over the southern part of the state for work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Growmark FS has buckwheat for about $35/bag. They will be your cheapest bet for most stuff. I do order some items from Welter Seed in Iowa. Occasionally it is cheaper through them with shipping. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. X2 on the Tikka, won’t find a better rifle at that price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I hate this crap! I put in for permits and don’t get them in the lottery. Log in at 10am and put 3 in my cart, my third selection ends up being sold out and then I have to back track to remove it. By the time I get back to the cart with my original 2 selections and re enter my payment info, they are sold out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks, I have a few options I’m looking at, definitely used. My biggest concern is being narrow so I can slip between sunken logs and obstacles. Some of the inflatables are very durable, most are too wide it looks like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I’m working on floating a small stream to a new spot for next deer season. I’m looking for a small canoe or maybe even an inflatable. Any suggestions? It’s tight and shallow in spots as well. I have 3-4 days of trimming before I can make this happen. It’s been a wader project so far, eventually I’ll have to commit and of the rest from a canoe or small raft as the river gets deeper. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’ve been kicking around the idea for years, but have yet to pull the trigger. I have a fair amount of set ups that I leave out, but it sounds like the saddle is more comfortable. I’m also planning more diy trips and this could be helpful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If you have any question if the bullet will hit its mark when you shoot then it is unethical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I use both and Kuiu as well. They all have their strengths, I think FL is lighter and better for active western hunts. Sitka has a better whitetail gear from what I’ve seen. Kuiu has awesome rain gear. They all run small in my opinion, I am anything but an “athletic” cut these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I took my 3 kids to Jenny Jump this week, they had a blast. Some nice trails, private sites and we caught a ton of fish at Ghost Lake. It feels a lot more remote than it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Lake Douglass Outfitters for us. The last 3 years my father (68 years old) have been doing diy elk hunts out west. This should be a breeze physically compared to those. Looking forward to it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I am headed there this fall, I can add a lot more when we get back of course. Our plan is to drive up (4 of us) with a small trailer in tow full of coolers. We are taking the Ferry out of Nova Scotia to New Foundland. Going to leave up state NY Friday AM and get to camp mid day Sunday. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks to all, we tried Black River last week. Some great looking habitat for all sorts of critters. No luck for us, was some noisy and slippery conditions. Everything was covered in frozen snow or ice, you either slid or crunched your way around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Was looking at Black River and Wild Cat so far. Was thinking black river could hold some rabbits with all those field edges. Wild cat looks to be squirrels only as it might be just wooded ridges. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Headed out on 2/16 with a buddy who is getting in to hunting. We went out before the holidays and got skunked looking for squirrels. I live in ocean county but he is up in Bergen, will probably try to head up his way to find some game. Anyone have a suggestion on where to head for some squirrels, rabbits or maybe even some birds this time of year up that way? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have no problem with it, do it myself in some spots, mainly public land. I would also prefer if it were to go away as it can create a lazy hunter in some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Not there yet, but have been looking at these for the last 2 months. Will be picking one up this week to help get my kids in the woods. Would obviously prefer a 22, but this is a nice alternative, especially for the little ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ended up at Colliers Mills due to some poor planning, no luck. Started in the back which was all pines, finished the day off towards the front in some nice oak woods, but nothing showed. May try again in a few weeks but will be looking for an area farther north. He is coming from Bergen County, any suggestions, we were thinking Black River WMA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Headed out tomorrow, most likely just looking for squirrels. Was thinking about parking at Stone Tavern Lake and walking a loop around to start, looks doable on a map. Any swamps or creeks I am missing? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Coastal Alaskan Brown Bear Light tackle Tarpon in the keys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I posed a similar question last week as I’m headed out on Saturday with a first timer. Most people pushed for Assupink, I think I am going to give it a whirl and I will report back. Same boat, just looking for some action to get a newbie interested in the sport, opportunity is all I’m out for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Thanks guys, I’ve actually never hunted assupink before. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to start there? Much appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
