  1. I came across 3 predator kills yesterday, all cases of the missing head variety Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Saturday it seemed like it today not so much. I hunt the forge on Forge Rd not on 539 so I am not certain how conditions over there have faired. I pushed a field with a few other people at opening shot and only one bird was put up from that field. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Got my limit at the forge then hit Greenwood and got 3 quails Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. When it ices up I break a hole and throw half a dozen mallard out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. All the maps at the spots I hunt(4-5 different ones) are all fairly accurate. I'm not certain on the Gap though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Good luck that's a fine looking buck there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. It was good today, I limited out on pheasant and quails today. I was done pheasant hunting in an hour and had to work for the quail as I was working over a flusher in the woods. Lots of birds all around though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I just can't see taking a year off though, this is the most exercise the dog and I get all year. I'll push sunrise to sunset between pheasants and quails in a single day. I thoroughly enjoy deer and duck hunting but there is nothing quite like a pheasant or quail flushing unexpectedly to get you going plus the utter disappointment you get with poor shot placement or a flushing dog springing a bird to far ahead of you. By far my favorite type of hunting and it's not even close for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I hunt the Forge and the stocking schedule stated there has been 90 birds between the 2 locations the last 3 stocks ( Sat, Tue, Thu) and I have heard about 24 birds maximum taken in the morning rush hour. Let's assume an even split of 135 per site that would leave 111 remaining birds at the spot I hunt. I can walk 5-7 miles to get my limit and I have a dog that will get scent 150 yards off the trail and put up birds and I hunt some of the more difficult areas where most don't venture after we hit the areas that are on the stocking maps. I have hunted with 6 well trained dogs to put up 2 birds in 2 hours which is unheard of for the supposed number of birds put out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Fantastic, it's been slow lately for sure. I get my limit but have been working harder than normal for sure. Can't complain though after today's 2 birds I'm up to 26 for the season and 20 quail. My 2 year old Borador (border collie/lab) has really progressed the last few weeks. 11. I can't say much I have worked for my birds but I have my limit almost every time ive been out as I've personally been able to take 20 birds this season so I have no complaints. Early season has been better but with that snow they were tree hangers, tucked in tight or flyaways before opening shot. I hunt the forge since I live on that road but birds are broken up between the two spots so I assume 45 for forge rd and 45 for rt 539 which isn't a ton of birds when there's a minimum 30-40 guys looking for them at each location Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. There's less birds on every WMA at the end of the season, last year they released 55k birds this year around 45-48 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Got my limit, they were tucked in nice and tight today though. Not to many birds were had. Most were taken from trees that I saw. My dog put them in the air however. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'm looking forward to getting out in the snow tomorrow, between the dog tracking and their little prints in the snow should be a good day. Plus it's been 2 weeks since the dog and I had a chance to work together due to 6 day. Good luck everyone, I know my dog is excited watching me get my gear together tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
