  1. Headed up to fish with Capt Jimmy with Scott , Henry and Zipper . we knew ahead of time there was going to be a huge swell all day , but that it would be fishable . ‘Jimmy navigated the big swells pushing us well offshore of Nantucket . unlike years past the amount of boats out there was ten times what used to be. fishing was steady all day , but the bite was weird . a lot of fish just laying on the baits or just not really committing . at days end the box was full with a limit of fluke . 3 DD were caught with Jimmy taking big fish honors with one over 11#. few nine pounders and lots of 7/8 pounders . lots of ball busting among great company made for a fun day in spite of crappy conditions . . fun place to fish knowing every bite could be the right one . few pics from the trip.

  3. Shake my head. It is horrible that money was taken for a service not provided, regardless of the situation. In my opinion, if a hunt didn't happen, outfitters should not keep money.

  14. The deposit money is not yours until you provide the hunt, shouldn’t be used for anything before hand. If an outfit doesn’t have enough money to cover those costs on his own he shouldn’t be in business.

  15. I don’t think it’s ruined. It’s not an over fishing problem the stocks are in good shape it’s just that it’s not out out back door. And I truly don’t know why it’s happening but it is. I could drink Ike a fish but can’t think like one. Also the squid fishery is all east of Montauk the last few years and the best of it off Nantucket

    stolen game camera

Depending on the crime there are no longer any consequences. Shoplift or riot in the name of a false narrative, your forgiven. Protest the election results, you'll linger in solitary confinement. Not a good time for our country.

  22. Cape May is beautiful! The bed and breakfasts are excellent down there, specifically the Queen Victoria (they have multiple properties and rooms at different price points, and EXCELLENT breakfast). The Mason Cottage is cool too. Whatever you do, you have to eat at the Mad Batter - specifically get the bayberry wings and crab cake sandwich during their lunch hours. Other great spots to eat are Washington Inn (fancy and expensive), Ugly Mug (bar food), we also always stop in North Wildwood for Maui’s Dog House (best hot dogs we’ve ever had, with so many different and creative topping options). Lots of people love the Lobster House and the Blue Pig in Congress hall (another place you can stay btw) but I personally think they’re both overrated, not bad though. Places to see are the sunken ship and sunset beach (same spot), the lighthouse which is part of a bird/wildlife sanctuary, and the “outdoor mall” with a ton of shops and restaurants. Also, you can take a horse drawn carriage tour through the town which is pretty cool too since all the Victorian architecture is so nice to look at. My wife and I honeymooned there in December 2012 through Christmas so we got to see everything all lit up and decorated, it’s gorgeous. No matter what you do or where you stay, I’m sure you’re going to love it. Have fun!

  26. Don’t feel too bad for me, I’m sitting at the bar at the Windlass on Lake Hopatcong with my one business partner and my lead excavator operator, both from Montana. Tomorrow it’s back to the office grind for a week. We will be back on July 20th to do the Lock Street 2,400’ which will take as long as the 4,800’ we just completed as even more work is required down there.

  28. Calcutta 400 is more than enough up there , filled with 20 pound braid . I use about 12pm of 50# mono top shot and same poundage for my teaser . many guys fish a poison tail chicken rig up there instead of a dropper and teaser . I use big hooked bucktails , that range from 5-10 Oz. anything heavier I change to a sinker . most days 5-8 Oz will get it done .’. ‘rod has to be able to handle those weights

  29. Yes, you need to cover that thing with blood. Because when you pass it down, you want whomever gets it to see dried blood in the seams and know that you used it in the field. It doesn't deserve to be a drawer ornament.

    Vortex Optics Service

Just wanted to relay my experience with Vortex Optics. I sent a pair of binoculars into Vortex to deal with an issue of a dust like substance getting into the binos and dulling them a bit. I had them for a number of years. I sent them in on February 12 and was surprised to see they were returned today. What fast service!!! Better yet my old glass was replaced by a brand new pair of 8X42 binoculars. I don't think I ever received a faster turnaround than this. I would have got them yesterday, but I put my old street instead of my new street on the return form. Contacting UPS and making Vortex aware they resolved it all pronto. UPS made an off route delivery to get the package to me. Totally impressed from a company standing behind their 100% warranty, as well as UPS getting right on the snafu.

    crime and punishment

Interesting as to the timing of this stupidity. The implication is that black people are the only ones who commit crimes. Further evidence of just how bigoted liberals truly are.

  48. I am 70 years old. I had this knee surgery planned for March last year and cancelled due to COVID. I had stage 4 cancer 8 years ago which took a lot out of me but I never stopped hunting and fishing. I look forward to at least another 10 years of hunting if the good lord keeps me healthy. As for hiking the mountains of Colorado I will leave that for you younger guys I had my share of long humps over the years.

    crime and punishment

Dead penalty does not work, and its too costly so it should be eliminated. It is an endless bureaucracy and even when the criminal pleads guilty and does not want to fight it the fight goes on for decades. That's one of the liberal arguments against death penalty. Of course they created this problem and refuse to fix it. There should be just two appeals allowed and within 12 months. Also no one, no elected official, should have the right to commute the sentence.
