  7. The Generosity shown by this man was over the top, then we got on great talking about hunting like we’ve known each other for years! Thank you very much Lee, on behalf of me, my son and the recipient of the bow. Truly a selfless act to help a new person in our sport…

    Does anyone have nice grass?

Lawns should be outlawed! A big waste of water, time and money! We put harmful fertilizer on it,it grows faster and we have to cut it more! Most towns won't take the grass clippings, ad to it the bad chemicals that we dump on the lawn to kill disease and bugs that end up in our water. Ah but it looks so nice!

  15. The info in the video could be the problem elsewhere but not in NJ. In NJ when baiting for deer became legal FW also changed the beginning dates of turkey season. Turkey season started later. Both were 98 or 99? It takes a mean brood size of 4 poult to maintain the turkey population. The mean brood size was consistently above 4 prior to baiting and turkey season date changes. It's only hit 4 maybe 2 or 3 times since then. (20+ years) Predator numbers skyrocketed after baiting was allowed. They eat like pigs fall thru January then little to no bait. Shortly after its turkey time! The State's turkey population numbers are total BS! Their study said a mean brood size of 4 is needed to maintain numbers. Their brood size number are mostly 2.5 to 3 for the past 20 years and their estimated population has been the same 22,000 to 23,000 for the past 20 years. Baiting is increasing predator numbers.

  17. Wow!! Dr Grant Woods always does a great job. turkey decline is obviously very complex but he mentions things that can be done to help curb the decline....like habitat improvements and not creating prey food plots upwind of stream corridors that predators easily scent up nests n poults....& predator management....specifically state wildlife agencies should allow either year round trapping or trapping thru spring nesting season....wonder if NJ Turkey biologists will get their head out of their asses and take appropriate actions!!! I also think we been creating a generation of Franken-critter Super nest raiders after all the years of legal baiting for deer. ....there is a pile of corn every quarter mile of woods & coons, opossum, skunks etc are feeding at corn piles....becoming physically fit and not having to put themselves into in harms to travel for food. excellent video! Thanks for sharing Fred!!

  24. My 1st Job was as a " Puller" at the Monroe- Chester Sportsman's Club Skeet Range from age 11 to nearly 16. Actually, I had no say in the matter as my Father was the Skeet + Trap Range Chairman which meant that all Spring,+ Summer Weekends were spent working at the Skeet Range. We arrived at 9.15am. Skeet shooting at this club started at 10am and did not end until 5 pm or later. Unfortunately for me,I was a great Puller who made very few mistakes in hitting either the H- L- or D buttons. And,I had a Clipboard to keep records. No rest after the 5 men were done shooting their 25 clay pigeons. I had to run to load up the High House and Low House. For my Safety,I turned off the power switch and released the next cocked Clay Pigeon. That was my Father's #1 rule. Low House was next and you would be surprised at just how many grown men would be in front of the Low House Window looking for their brand new Shotgun Hulls at Station #7. I had to yell and make sure no one was in front of that Window before releasing that last Pigeon. As soon as,I was done reloading more Clay pigeons- 5 new men would be waiting on me at Station #1. More Running and Kids don't get tired as we all remember. Now,I was trained to hit that button at any sound as only a few would yell out- " Pull". I heard everything from- Yip-- Hooo- HHahh--Ahhhh-- Coughing and many others. That's right- one guy Coughed as his Signal to hit the button. Now some of the Best Skeet Shooters ever came to the Monroe- Chester Sportsmen's Club Skeet + Trap Range. And ,I learned alot. By age 14, I shot my 1st 25 Staight in Skeet. Won my 1st competition at age 15 with just one other 15 year old. We both shot 48 out of 50 and had an extended shoot off which,I won. My opponents Father talked to me later when,I was alone and wanted my Trophy for his Son!! He did not get it... I also managed to win many years later in April of 1994 a Registered Skeet 12 Gauge " Doubles" competition. On this Day- there was light rain and a Light to medium wind. The Clay pigeons just " flattened out" right out of the Houses. Being a Pheasant Hunter,I was ready. My score of 92 out of 100 won this competition. All these great Shots were missing over the Top in the wind. Hope Y'All enjoyed this post.

  27. I've been in the lawn business almost 20 years. This was a good read with alot of great info. But every lawn is different..soils, shade, pests etc. Dosen't hurt to have some look at it and give you some pointers. 4 applications a season are adequate if you time them correctly. Dont let the big name lawn companies talk you into 8.

  28. I have a JD 6315m with a FEL that we mow large areas with a 15’ batwing mower and plant all the tillable fields at the farm with. I also have a JD 3038e that we mow lanes and plant and maintain the small size food plots with. We also use the big tractor for maintaining washed out creek crossings, moving dirt & downed trees. Both machines are excellent and give me zero problems. The 3038e is a little small for all we put it through but it handles everything we throw at it with ease and you can really whip it around to get jobs down fast with it. Go green you’ll be happy.

  32. I know how to have a great lawn, but I could not possibly care less. I used to - realized was a slave to it, and putting bad stuff into the ground to accomplish it... For what? My yard is 30% real grass, 30% clovers and broadleafs, 20% dandelions and rest are assorted weeds and of course the dreaded summer crab grass. It's all green after its mowed. The rabbits and deer and other animals like the clovers, dandelions and broadleafs. The environment does not care much for me dumping a boatload of chemicals to have a pure green grass lawn. No thanks Scott's, TrueGreen, or Chemlawn. When I stopped caring about my lawn over 15 years ago, I started catching more and bigger fish, and shooting more mature bigger bucks. Why? Because I am not wasting time caring about what my lawn looks like... Pure and simple. After it's mowed, looks great how it is, it's all green "something".

  41. When I use to fish great bay around grassy channel. Shad dart couple split shots and a slip bobber, easy to adjust for changing drifts. Stay about a foot off bottom so you don't get grass. Squid killie, or pro cut and killie. Got many keeper fluke fishing that method. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk
