  4. I know how to have a great lawn, but I could not possibly care less. I used to - realized was a slave to it, and putting bad stuff into the ground to accomplish it... For what? My yard is 30% real grass, 30% clovers and broadleafs, 20% dandelions and rest are assorted weeds and of course the dreaded summer crab grass. It's all green after its mowed. The rabbits and deer and other animals like the clovers, dandelions and broadleafs. The environment does not care much for me dumping a boatload of chemicals to have a pure green grass lawn. No thanks Scott's, TrueGreen, or Chemlawn. When I stopped caring about my lawn over 15 years ago, I started catching more and bigger fish, and shooting more mature bigger bucks. Why? Because I am not wasting time caring about what my lawn looks like... Pure and simple. After it's mowed, looks great how it is, it's all green "something".

This whole thing has turned into government propaganda. You can't watch , listen or read anything without hearing the best thing we can do is vaccinate. Enough already, I am sick of being bombarded with it. This is the same stuff that goes on in communist countries that we question, yet we accept it here??

You can’t see a wall 2” in front of your face. I said 100 times it’s a personal decision and I never once tried to talk someone out of it. The problem is I’m in the group being forced to take the vaccine so I’m fighting back. Our kids who have nothing to fear from this virus are forced to take it. It is shocking to me Americans like you are ok with forcing others to take untested and experimental drug, which already killed over 5000 Americans, just because they already took it themselves. try to think outside of you tiny box, become little less selfish and may you will get it

  15. I can grow grass like a carpet. I traveled for two years and then broke my elbow last year and my lawn has gone to hell. If you don't maintain it, it fizzles out quickly. My first recommendation is to know your soil, hence the pH question earlier. Once you determine that you can figure out what to add to the soil. The next thing is to put down an herbicide and kill every plant including the grass and till the soil in the fall. You may have weeds that are rhizomes and are a pain in the ass to get rid of (hello, yellow nutsedge). Treat your soil to balance the pH and then seed. Weed seeds do not grow in the fall but grass seeds will germinate all the way down to a 50°F soil temperature. By seeding in the fall (and I mean early to mid September) the grass gets a head start and the roots can grow over the winter. In the spring you want to put down fertilizer that contains stuff that prevents seeds from germinating. This stuff will last from early April until July. It's like magic, no weeds will sprout on your lawn, and the grass will thicken in the spring. Watering is tricky. Water a lot in the fall to get the grass seeds to germinate, however, you only want to water up to 1" of water per week. Watering a few times per week versus all the time will train the grass roots to go deeper into the soil. This is important and it helps keep the lawn green in the summer. Also, you're not growing grass, you're growing turf. What is turf? Turf is a layer of decomposing material that is about 1/4"-1/2" on top of the soil. You create turf by using a mulching mower. All of the grass clippings go back into the lawn to decompose. You want to keep this layer of decomposition healthy. That in turn will keep your lawn healthy. The layer acts like a barrier to hold moisture in the soil and prevent weed seeds from getting to the soil and germinating. Anything organic can be used to feed your turf. In the fall I don't rake the leaves. I go over them several times with the mulched, and literally within 2-3 days the lawn eats them. So grow your turf and it will help your grass grow and remain healthy. Set your mower to 3" in height. You want your grass to be tall so the layer of turf forms and is healthy. Cutting your lawn too short will stress out the grass and cause it to dry out and focus more on blade growth than root growth. You want to encourage root growth so the lawn thickens. Never cut more than 1/3 of the grass length or else your grass will focus on blade growth. This means you may be cutting your lawn every 3-4 days in the spring when it really grows. I also use a fertilizer called Milorganite. https://www.milorganite.com It's 100% organic. Golf courses use it. And when you apply it, your lawn turns an emerald green like you've never seen before. It's not cheap either. But it won't burn out your lawn, mess with water supplies, or anything else like that. You can use it to fertilize your garden too. Safe for pets/kids/etc. There's a lot to it, but once you get the hang of it, maintaining it isn't too bad. My lawn used to look like this, and by this time next year it will look like it again.

Scary that someone would put this into their body unless they really needed it like the elderly or compromised. To try and push this on kids is sick. https://www.hackensackmeridianhealth.org/HealthU/2021/01/11/a-simple-breakdown-of-the-ingredients-in-the-covid-vaccines/

    Why I voted for Biden

Lets be fair and give his supporters a forum to make him shine. Lets see what they come up with I will start with this and list his accomplishments as we go This will go under category of America First: https://www.oann.com/report-joe-biden-plans-to-surrender-protections-for-u-s-steel-and-aluminum/ Joe Biden Plans To Surrender Protections For U.S. Steel And Aluminum Joe Biden is expected to reverse U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum imports that were put in place by the Trump administration. Bloomberg has reported that Biden will commit to lifting the tariffs during his meeting with European leaders next week. President Trump enacted the tariffs to stop U.S. dependence on foreign metals, which a government review found would be a national security threat. It was of great concern that becoming dependent on imported steel and aluminum would enable other countries to use their metal production to regulate U.S. policy.

The eclipse will be nearly at maximum (~90 percent coverage) at sunrise, so viewers can watch the Sun reappear as the Moon moves out of the way. This stream will show the partial, not annular, solar eclipse.

  28. I also like my lawn to look nice, at least after I cut it!!! I have 5 kids, always at least 2 dogs, chickens and goats in the yard, so stopped doing the chemical crap 15 years ago. Clover is soft under foot and brings the bees around to pollinate flowers and garden. Does it match the neighbors? Nope, but I also dont worry about my kids or animals getting sick from it. Years ago the chemical guy who does the neighbors came over and asked me about treating my law . I said no thanks as I have kids and animals. He said it is completely safe. I asked why are you wearing gloves over your elbows and hip boots while applying? He left.

  32. I now work on a golf course for a retirement village and also do landscaping with my friend , First i nice lawn costs time and money , anyone says diff is full of it, first is test your soil ,and see what's the PH , i live in south toms river and its all pine sand , my season routin is fist magi-cal this helps raise or lower your ph, early spring a good pre- emergent early season you can go with a high nitrogen fertilizer when its still cool nights like a 20-10-10 , the 20 is your nitrogen content as the weather gets hoter you need to drop it so not to BURN your lawn walmart sells a 10-10-10 , , another thing i put down is OCEANGROW its a lawn feed you can put as heavey as you want and it just feeds your lawn , THE BIGGEST THING TO BATTLE IS FUNGUS , DONT BUY THE CRAP FROM THE BOX STORES ,DOMYOWN.COM is the place to get fungicide you want to buy 2 brands to alternate i use headway and cleary 3336 Also WATER WATER WATER PEOPLE start out gung hoe and then stop watering its better at 15 min a day the a deep soak every other day,

I think what I find fascinating is how hard you have worked on a hunting and fishing forum to stop others from getting the Covid vaccine. While I know you are not, it is a liberal move to try to impose your beliefs on others. I don’t mind reading the odd post on vaccines, but not everyday with a new post on why I shouldn’t have gotten the vaccine. Let’s give it a rest and get back to the outdoors.

    Why I voted for Biden

Helping Americans: https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/wh-budget-office-approves-bidens-plan-to-remove-insulin-epipen-discounts-report WH budget office approves Biden's plan to retract insulin, epipen discounts: The White House this week gave President Biden the greenlight to move forward with removing a Trump-era health care policy designed to bring down the price of insulin. Biden’s bid to retract the rule was approved on Monday, as reported by Politico, with the expectation that the Department of Health and Human Services could publish the retraction within the coming days. The measure, signed off on under the previous administration in December, aimed to require some 340B community health centers to deliver savings to low-income patients for insulin and epinephrine in a bid to bring down unaffordable prices. Spokespeople for the White House and the Department of Health and Human Services did not return FOX Business’ request for comment. BIDEN ADMIN FREEZES TRUMP HHS RULE MEANT TO LOWER INSULIN PRICES The rule was scheduled to go into effect in January but was frozen at that time. Earlier this year, the National Association of Health Care Centers said the rule would "adversely impact Community Health Centers" and make it harder for low-income patients to afford the medications.
