Rayorsa Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 It is amazing...we hunt from September thru February, and on the eve of the last day of winter bow...I'm already looking forward to the start of the deer season again in September! Sure, I'm looking forward to getting the boat ready for bass and fluke...and turkey season is right around the corner...but I'm getting the deer season blues!! Opportunity expands in proportion to one's courage.

bushden Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I was in the house sick all week it just killed me to miss the last few days, but fishing season is just aroung the corner. I plan on picking up the boat at the end of the month and start getting ready for the season. Rutting Buck Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Me too. Everybody keeps talking about fishing but in my mind fishing doesn't even compare to deer hunting "Your short on ears and long on mouth"
Rusty Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 For me, spending quality time in the woods scouting and developing a better understanding of the land is more fun than the actual hunting. This time of the year is one of the best times to do that. I spend more time in the woods now than I do at any other time of the year. If you think of your deer hunting as a year round activity, where the shooting part is just one small piece of the puzzle, then deer season never really ends.
Tika270 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I hear yeah for me it's waterfowl I'm all ready dreaming about it. D-D... Nothing like a warm barrel. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.
Pathman Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I know the feeling Ray. The season comes quick and goes quick. But if you sit back and recollect all the individual adventures, happenings, or even mishaps for that matter, you'll realize that you just completed another great season in the deer woods. That's what makes us come back year after year...
Liv2hunt Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I am in the same boat as all of you. I can't wait for the new season. After completing this season I know where I want to move a few stands for next season so it never really ends. I Just want to Hunt...
bill43 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 A little over 6 months to go Turkey season makes the wait a little easier
bigwuhead Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Big time. Means I now have to actually clean the house. At least I've got a trip to FL in two weeks to get some fishing in, a bear hunt in May and some other plans to fish up in MA.
Palawman30 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 For me the end of deer season is like a bad breakup. I have to end it sharply and decisively and move on to other projects or depression will set in. PredaTorch.com Hot Estrous Doe and Other Deer Scent, Night Predator Lights
RifledSlug Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Pulled the only 2 stands I had out in public land today, I've got a lot on my plate so the season ending isn't so bad this year, it's one less thing I have to work into the logistic nightmare that is my life. I noticed that I'm at the bottom of my HSS scent free soap/body wash and this is only the first bottle of the season. I usually go through 3 which means I've hunted 1/3 of the time that I usually hunt. Anyone else have a barometer to gauge there hunting time?
