Shamrock Eddie Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 If you keep your boat in the back bay it is worth the ride to study the changes caused by Sandy, You still can see where the partially sunken boat(s) are out of Morgan, The channel out of Key port has many high spots you can see at low tide and for those of you that like to blow around the sailboats take a carefully look a lot has changed the mud and dirt from the fill area are spread out a few hundred yards now. Now's the time to scout it out Capt Eddie Coleman April Ann Charters Team GFYYF
MS22 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Good lookin out Eddie. Im sure the whole bay has changed quite a bit. Take it slow out there until you're well acquainted with the new lay of the land. Also, Im sure there are plenty of changes both good and bad to people's favorite fishing areas...possibly different bootom contours and compositions in certain areas. Have fun exploring and be safe:cheers:
Palawman30 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Great advice... That goes for the entire coast just about. Almost every inlet has some changes to it and the back bays even more. Guys have to be extremely careful until the new channels are figured out PredaTorch.com Hot Estrous Doe and Other Deer Scent, Night Predator Lights
Rayorsa Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 The spring bass season is sure going to be interesting in the upper and lower bay with the sunken boats and debris... Opportunity expands in proportion to one's courage.
makosnax Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Google may have updated satellite maps showing changes. Probably available for gps map updates. Cool now i have something to do today.
Scrubby rack buck Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 must be very diffrent.. Im sure there will be few boats that get into trouble with the new lay of the water.. its gonna be an intersting fluke season too...
makosnax Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I cant wait to find the new honey holes cut out by the storm.
DuckSlayer424 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 The bay is trashed. Duck hunted it for divers along The main shipping channel every longline and decoy line I pulled up was filled with trash bags and shopping bags and nasty stuff all sloshing around the bottom with the tide and current changes
GunDogs Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Do you think the 2013 chartplotter software will show all of the changes?
Killer Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Eddie, I thought you were not aloud to speed near the sailboats. Boat name " Morgue " Team " GFYYF "
lefteye Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Eddie' date=' I thought you were not aloud to speed near the sailboats. [/quote'] Not in the channel, but you could get around outside of them. On high tide it was no problem. Thanks for the heads up, Captain. I run my Whaler out of there 5-6 times a year.
