As the topic says, what boots are you all using for upland bird hunting and what are the likes and dislikes?  I typically just wear my old work boots but I cover a lot of ground on the weekends and I need something a little more comfortable and drier.  Most of the areas that I hunt are dry for the most part but I'd like something that I can get into some swampy stuff with too.  Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Anything with some Gore Tex is good for the hiking. I use muck boots for the real swampy areas as I just head to my truck and switch boots based on terrain when I go back to let my dog eat some food and get a drink.

Danners are or were the absolute best.  I wore them a ton when I spent a lot of time grouse and woodcock hunting, and they always lasted a decade of tough use.  My cheap Rockies would give me only 2 or 3 years.  Right now I'm in LL Bean upland boots and they have been much better than the Rockies but not as good as my old Danners.  Like others said, if it's very swampy, I wear my Muck boots.

Bought a pair of Redwings Irish Setters at Cabelas 2 years ago because they were waterproof with goretex and 400gm insulated because they were the most comfortable.

For 2 years they were perfect and about 1 month ago I wore them and they leaked like crazy.  Called the folks at Redwing and they said "send them back with an explanation of the problem" which I did.

The sent me a new pair which I received last week.  They are made in China as are most now but at least they stood behind their product.  Oh, I did not have the original receipt either.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.
