Well, it's days away!

So many guys have been waiting for this bowhunt to actually happen and it's finally here. I believe there will be a large demand for bear mounts this October, and I hope to be of service to many of you.

A few tips:

- don't drag the bear on the ground. Use a sled, atv, Truck, tarp, etc.

-if using an atv, watch the tires and exhaust are not contacting the fur. Last year the exhaust burnt the fur off the face of someone's bear... just be aware.

-if you need to skin in the woods, ski properly! For a rug, skin from crotch to neck, as centered as possible right through genitals. Then go from center of Palm through the chest and back to center of other palm. And heel through anus to heel along the hair pattern that comes together on the back of the rear legs. All cuts as Symetrical as possible. Leave feet and skull in the skin.

Skinning for shoulder mounts just like a deer...

Skinning for lifesize depends on the pose desired.. some should be skinned down the spine, some up the belly. Call me prior to skinning. 551-206-2623

-when skinning, remove as much fat from skin as possible without putting 1000 holes ;)

-keep skin dry and cold/shaded

-place ice in a separate bag within the same bag the skin is in. Do not let ice melt and soak the skin.

I will be available in newton (fredon twp ) at my shop all week. I'm about 2-3 minutes away from the whittingham wma check in station. How to a butcher, or bring straight to me as long as I have everything under control I'll be taking them in first come first serve.

Skinning is free of charge with lifesize and rugs. Shoulder and half lifesize will be by request only, and only if I'm not swamped at that given time. Call me to find out.

Good luck everyone! 3685871978bc327b4d92b963e842075d.jpg272df2a1e053a8c610f17865c47fa95e.jpg6c304d246148ca9f653496d5af128ee8.jpg
