Just purchased my first Maine Moose point, hopefully when I retire I will have enough points to go on a hunt !!! Always wanted to hunt Moose, so I got the ball rolling!!!

To be honest I never looked it up, just went on their web page & purchased the point for $15.00

Moose Application Deadline: You can apply online until 11:59 PM on May 13, 2013. If you use a paper application, it must be postmarked by April 1, 2013, or delivered to 284 State Street in Augusta by 5:00 PM on April 1, 2013.

How many points do you need to take a moose in ME?

I remember my friend in ND, who shot a moose there several years ago, said you get ONE lifetime tag for moose...that's it!

He still gets trailcam pics of moose every year...catches you off guard: doe, doe, nice buck, doe, small buck, HOLY (*@#(*@ haha

My understanding without points nearly impossible. More the points better your chaces.

Wow, I didn't realize you could buy them in ME. I started last year to hopefully pull in VT for an archery Moose tag. I think my odds are better for winning the Mega Millions.

It's more of a donation to the state of Maine... Non-residents get 415 permits. It is a tough lottery....

 

This is my 14th year applying.. I have 27 bonus points.

just make sure you keep up with it and put the dates on your calender, because if you miss a year you lose all your points. co worker of mine missed a year and lost all what he had accumulated over the years. I guess they used to send out a reminder via post card, but now they send an email and he missed it somehow.

Just spoke with Oxbow Lodge, he said roughly 25 points needed to draw a tag. so in the coming 7 yrs I will need to purchase more then just one :banghead:

it dont matter how many you purchase you only get to add one point a year to your total.
