At school I used to eat lunch at a large table with 10-15 other teachers, my buddy and I ate together and swapped hunting stories while we ate.  There was a new teacher sitting at our table and each day she sat a little closer until eventually she was sitting right next to us.  She was a self proclaimed animal's rights activist and vegan but she was not antagonistic in any way.  She was genuinely curious about why we hunted.

One day she asked if she could come over the next time I shot a deer so she could see how it's butchered.  So a few days later I shot a deer and invited her over to watch.  Half way through the butchering process she asks if she can help, so I give her a hind quarter and walk her through it.  When we're done she asks if she can take some home and try it.   :)

Two weeks later I get this frantic phone call, "Rusty, a deer just got hit by a car in front of my house, come help me butcher it".

That February she and her friends bought a buffalo from Space Farms, cut it up themselves and ate it.

Veganism is an ass-backwards lifestyle. You can slaughter 1 cow and feed your family for an entire year. Or, you can by veggies from the store, grown on commercial farms, which destroy and deplete the ecosysyem, leaving the soil devoid of nutrients and eliminating all life that once survived on or would have survived on that land. Not to mention the unreal amount of small critters, right up to deer that are killed during the harvesting process. Commercial vegetable farming is a nightmare. Veganism is an attempt by the ignorant to feel morally superior, not an evidence based study of the idea that all life is precious amd equal

Aren't you in a tree stand?  Stop playing with your phone.

She sounds a little flaky to me but, most teachers are anyway sooo... :bolt:

Yeah, teachers are a bunch of losers.  At least that's what my students tell me.
