Ok, I know the going rate to butcher bears is $1.00 per pound, but if I'm hiring a butcher to do the work I think it's wrong for them to charge for skinning, I mean they have to skin it to butcher it.....Now I fully understand charging for skinning if that is the only service the hunter wants....Just my opinion

or you can skin and pay $1 per pound. i admagine they are skinning to tan which means it takes a lot more time to skin the paws and head out. i did mine last year and it wasent fun.

Also $1.00 per pound I'm ok with, but that's with the hide on, so what if one shoots a 500 lb. Bear, the hide itself will be over 120 lb. And paying a $150 for skinning
