Out in my hardwoods. Hope to find a buck I have no pictures of yet. I have no idea what he looks like - I just know he has to be bigger than everything I have seen thus far. I am deeper in - far from bait and cam. 57 degrees breezy out of the NE. Damp because it rained.

Two rack bucks locked up and really going at it. 100 yards. I think it's my "pet" palmated 10 pt and another young 8 pt. I heard it before I saw it. Nothing like the sound of antlers in the morning! Those two are safe if they come in range. Hope that 10 gets to breed a lot of does this fall and pass on those genes. I originally thought he was 2.5 but more and more I am thinking he is only 1.5. He surely loaded up on my minerals from late March through August.

Man 10 years ago this woods was alive with does munching acorns. It's just barren now. Other than those two bucks which I see every day - I am not expecting much else. Sad actually.

Hunt over - here is a pic of mutt and jeff (these two been inseparable since July) and now they are starting to not like each other so much (hence the morning sparring session)

that's because we don't have alot of hunters anymore we have shooters that have to shoot at whatever walks instead of hunting
