Anyone Shoot an Xpedition Bow?

Recommended Posts

I found a new shop last night that's close to my home by the name of "Agony Outdoors" in Waldwick, Bergen Cty.  Met one of the owners and he took me thru the shop and his (for now) only higher end bow line, Xpedition.  He let me shoot his, it's the hybrid cam Xcentric.  Bow shoots very nice.  Quiet and dead in hand.  Light and maneuverable.  Seems pretty stinking fast as well.  He is set up at 70# with a 27.5" DL.  I like the bow but would like to hear from anyone else shooting them.

Will you get another

I really like the Xcentric and am very interested in the Xception as I like single cam bows for the smooth draw.

What say y'all?

Jump over to the forum on Archerytalk and check out what people have to say about them.  They seem to be one of the most loved bows on the market for the past few years.  I have it narrowed down to a couple bows for my next bow, and the front runner right now is an Xpedition Perfexion

What other brands do they carry?  What are you shooting now?

Xpedition bows are shooters for sure. Many of them are now a days though, to be honest. For me the repeatibility of the grip is tops in the business. There are some that are close but for ME (which is key in archery...find what works for YOU), it was easiest to repeat my grip on their riser, time and time again. Solid limb stops too. I own the Xcentric 7 and couldnt be happier. Customer service is second to none. You can reach one of their main guys on AT which is a plus. The only thing Ive done since the pics is added a set of black and red vapor trail strings but their 2016 stock strings(lightning strings) are great with no peep rotation after broken in. Also, the pic in the grass shows a truglo sight which I upgraded to a trophy ridge react pro 5 pin that you can see in the first pic. Im shooting a 420 grain arrow around 270fps and thats only at 62lbs and 28.5" DL. The bow has an IBO rating of 344 and their 6" brace height bow hits 350 something. One thing you will learn on AT is many Obsession bows, which are top sellers too dont get me wrong, fail to hit their IBO where most Xpedtions are @IBO or higher and handle an increasing "heavier" arrow really, really well. You wont regret buying an Xpedition, that I can guarantee you.

They are supposed to be coming out with a 34" Xcentric for 2017, so if that interests you, you may want to hold off a little.

If youre interested in the longer perfexion, you may want to take a look a their 2017 lineup. They are supposed to be coming out with a 34" Xcentric!

Currently the shop is only carrying Xpedition and PSE.  I don't know if he has anything else in the works.

Really good guy.  Nice, clean shop.  All in all a great experience.

I am shooting a Quest "Forge" by G5.  I like it and it shoots well.  I am simply looking for something a bit...  fancier.  No real reason other than I want it.  And I promised myself that if I harvested a deer this year (it will be my first) I would treat myself early next year.

One nice thing is that I upgraded pretty much everything on the bow except the stabilizer.  And I kept most of the stuff that came originally on the bow.  So I have all the upgraded components that I will want already to go.  It'll just be the bow and set-up.  Certainly lessens the pain.

I actually love PSE bows and that's what I've been shooting for a while.  I love the grip, (which xcentric mimics). I love the speed of the bows (the fastest overall line of bows)  and I love their cams.  I would strongly suggest you shoot some PSE bows as well.

The "other" bow at the top of my list is the PSE Decree HD Ti.  35" ata, 6.4" brace height.  Plenty of speed.  When it comes time to buy, I'm going to set that bow and the Perfexion side by side and shoot them until they kick me out of the shop. I don't think I'll be able to decide.

If you like them a little shorter ata and a little faster, then the Inertia and the Bow madness are the ones to look at.

If speed is your thing and you don't mind less smoothness, then shoot the Full Throttle.  Heck, shoot a full throttle anyway.  It's the fastest bow on the market.  That thing shoots laser beams

I am not against PSE but the bows aren't for me from what I've read. I'd like to shoot one or two. However I'm not a speed guy. Smooth draw, light weight, and grip are my current priorities. All are negotiable.

They are excellent bows, I was looking into them as well as Obsession and Mathews (I'm a mathews shooter since '96), but I like a bow with a 30" axel to axel....Xpedition doesn't make a bow 30", Obesession has no dealer near me to at least handle one....I went with a Mathews Z2.....Targeteers in Saddle Brook deals with Mathews and Xpedition

Like I said, the Inertia and the Bow Madness are probably more in tune with what you're looking for.

I'm not sure what you've read, but PSE bows are amazing and they've climbed back to the top of the pile in the past few years.

Definitely shoot some and you'll be able to make a decision then.
