the biggest disadvantage with this xbow is the trigger for one and shooting standing you need a solid rest to shoot this thing unless it's close my release for my bow has a hair trigger that's adjustable I've shot the same release for 10plus years now nothing has changed with recurve I'm good out to 20 and xbow 40 if I have too I can shoot with the best of them but this xbow is poopie kaka not my cup of tea

Good observation with the rest.  I have a rest for the front of the Xbow when I'm sitting in my blind.  I get the height and such all set up when I get into the blind.  It's just like holding a gun, and if you're waiting on the deer to accommodate the shot, it gets heavy hold that darn thing.  It is actually easier to hold a draw freehanded than an Xbow, IMHO.

I use a xbow.  But you're right...it's not the "wonder weapon" everyone says it is.  You really have to have a rail or some type of rest (they are hard to shoot accurately offhand because the weight is all up front) which usually means you can only shoot sitting which limits your range of shots quite a bit.  Not the distance but the range of available shots.  Their are definitely some advantages to it for sure...but some drawbacks as well.

It's certainly not responsible for "decimation of deer herd" as many feared it would. The stupid regulations and lack of hunter restraint take care of that - it's not the weapon.

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

no its not i just proved that this morning.the front is so heavy it's not a balanced piece of equipment I find it awkward then I had to stand with this thing for an eternity til a shot presented itself.I did however notice the doe had shed her summer coat and the fawns didn't have Whitespots plus they were a good 60lbs each.I this k we are in for a cold winter.but I tell you I had a blast it was a real good hunt everything was perfect the wind the weather the movement you couldn't have scripted it any better I really don't care that I missed it was good to miss Cuz now it makes me more on edge and ahead of the game
