Trying out a new nock this year (green). It's from clean shot archery called the nockout. The red one is a firenock that has been used a bit and battery is a year old. They both fly the same to me. If anyone has input let me know. I like how the nockout operates meaning turn the collar in practice mode so it doesn't light up but I like that I can change out the battery in the Firenock. I use Nockturnals and the only thing I dont like is you have to reset the pin with something sharp each time and it only works so many times... i did find they are more consistant than the lumenocks that use a magnet though. i would be interested to know how well the ones with a collar work... that seems like a good design as long as they fly the same

Tracer Nocks use a magnet. Lumenocks use 2 metal pins that when released push against shaft. Lumenocks MUST be square at nock end and you MUST sand end of carbon shaft in order to have and make good contact.Lumenocks has a YOU TUBE instruction.

How much heavier are they? It looks like a lot of unnecessary weight that will compromise FOC, with that, good broadhead flight and penetration.

Not sure on weight but didn't change flight path with broadhead I'm using but I'm no expert.

Me 2. I just leave 1 on while practicing, and turn it off when done. They stay lit for a long time. I shoot deer and trow the arrow in the bed of my truck and forget about then and over a month later I notice it glowing dim back there..

I use my license holder pin to turn it off, they work fine as long as you don't gouge the inside of the switch area. Get right between the silver and color and push the color up. If you push the silver up it scratches it and that can cause it to malfunction.

Lumenocks did not change flight, but Nocturnal just a bit lower. Not any thing i would be concern about as it could me me.

Most likely what you experienced is the nock to string fit. Lumenoks fit a little looser on the string...thats a good thing. With nocturnals or ignitors (which Im using now) I had my center serving redone otherwise they fit too tight and that will absolutely change your poi. Thats also why you hear of more nocturnals "blowing up" and IMO why you see them with the "wings" now or more plastic on the nock compared to the older ones.

Could be spike.Lumenocks are spot on every shot. I did see that the plunger on Nockturnal does get marked up and now it's hard to turn off. I only buy 1 nock at a time. At least Lumenocks you can change the battery.

Not a fan of the nock outs. I wanted to like them. I didnt like the extra length they add to the arrows but I was willing to deal with that. Think of their design. To turn the nock off its a simple pull it straight back. Well I only had one stay lit out of 6 deer. All others turned on at the shot and turned off after passing thru. If the nock has the cleanest of a pass thru that nock will stay lit. If you happen to catch any bone and meat/tissue from a not "perfect shot" for example quartering away even ever so slightly, or if the deer kicks/runs the instant its hit and the arrow deflects inside the cavity and passes thru(or not) in a different direction, its going to turn off. Now, Ive talked to my pro shop, another guy who is on their staff and called them directly, not to bash but to give them a field report. I think, at the very least, they need to tighten up the pressure/tolerance it takes to pull the nock back. That would help. Mine were too easy to pull back. Maybe even have a collar that works just like the practice mode in that you have to spin the collar and then pull the nock back. People are using them though. Some are saying the same thing as me and some are swearing they all light up every single time. I find it hard to believe they can stay lit every time. Maybe they will stay lit if you dont get a pass thru but we are all looking for two holes but in the case you dont get a pass thru, they would be fine then. This is just my honest report...not after one shot but a handful of deer and they were 1 for 6.

I tried lumenoks and they didnt work for me, but they do for many, many others. I went with nufletch ignitors and couldnt be any happier. I dont see myself needing to go the firenock route.
