9/10 JHbowhunter morning hunt

Well I completed the hunt... but will replay the one I did on bowsite.com....  This is how it would have looked like on here....

 

5:50 am

 

Don't know why I am out on this "earna-buck" opener in 71 humid degrees with a high forecasted of 89. Tradition I guess.  Oh well. A 1.5 old doe is on the menu. I just wanted to post the first live whitetail hunt of the season

5:55 am and I already have a pair of 8 pointers feeding in field edge 12 yards away. Can count points through binos. I am in a big cedar tree well covered

6:12AM

Well a 3rd bigger 8 moved in. He is rubbing the crap out of a tree. He is clean of velvet. One is full velvet and the other has shreds all over. They are on my trail cam for sure. Exciting but need a doe.

6:31 AM.   All bucks thrashing and rubbing like mad, to get that velvet off.  Exciting for sure, actually kind of comical

Now a spike and fork horn moved in. Way to go Jack- need a doe and hunt the bachelor group. Smart!

Hunt over. It's only a 90 minute of daylight spot. More like 45 mins actually. Long way from bedding.

Nice getting out there and seeing action. I was going to hunt NY bear this AM with my nephew but he decided he wants to wait a few days when it gets cooler. Than my other plan was to sit by my cousins barn in zone 2 this afternoon but decided to wait too hot for me today.
