Went out to check a cam on state land today. Came across this guy set up a whopping 25 yards from the spot where I'm set up and on top of that, yet another guy with a tree stand not 20 yards from this guy! The tree stand guy took the time to kick his ladder stand, but if course his camera is unsecured. Don't worry it's still there. But the kicker of all of this is that each guy hacked down trees to clear a line of site. 1 5" ash tree and the other a 5" beech tree. It's supposed to be bow hunting. Try blending in without clear cutting the Forrest. And FYI, it's illegal to cut down trees on a state park. beat hope the park police don't see this

I thank God everyday that I don't have to hunt public land. I got a lot of respect for guys that do. I know that if I lose my private land, I would stop hunting NJ all together.

Ah.. yes, the state land horror stories begin. These are the threads I didn't miss all summer. That sucks, I hope it works out for you.

Are the woods that small?

And why would you put a blind right behind a tree that you end up cutting down? Just leave the tree and move the blind over a bit and use the tree for cover!

I hear you.. I lost all my private land and have to hunt state,I have pretty much zero drive to hunt anymore. I actually only get out from time to time. I don't even go out in the early season because I don't want to shoot the does, because the out of staters come here and slaughter them,if it's brown it's down.
