The Difference a Dog Makes

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

We lost our dog this past May, she was 15, and I can't believe the difference it made having her around.  Last summer our garden was so productive we couldn't eat it all and had to give much of it away.  This summer we did not get a single vegetable because of varmints.   :banghead:

We've lived in our house for nearly 30 years and mice have never been an issue.  These past 3 months we have been overrun.  I'm buying rat poison in 4 lb. blocks and have traps set throughout the house.

Sorry to hear about losing your dog, its a very sad event and time might be right to get another.

This may help.

Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss.

A new dog never replaces an old dog; it merely expands the heart.

If you have loved many dogs your heart is very big.

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

So true.

Don't wait....

Lots of beautiful dogs in need of adoption.

We have two and they are our children now.

We will be getting another one, but right now we are both very busy and we don't want a puppy sitting home alone all day.

Don't wait too long, get back in the game. You already know the joy they bring. (after the puppy stage)

The puppy stage is the beast.

Dog, as much a part of turning a house into a home as a kitchen table is IMO.

It's a good time of the year to get a pup as one can easily get them into following blood now and that exciting thing that makes man HAPPY at the end of the trail.

Oh and if you ever did any house breaking in winter you will also agree with me.

My boy is well into his golden years for a Vizsla, he's 11 now but 12 is fast approaching, December 28th, all the research I did says 14-15, he's in great health and this will be his 11th hunting season and still going strong!

I can't see my life without at least one Vizsla. Here's a few pix.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Hunt with a Vizsla, cause life's to short to hunt with an ugly dog! :D RIP Tilly monster. (Attila) 2004-2017.

Thanks! I told him he can't get any older, but he won't listen!

Yeah, that' the biggest problem with dogs.  They get old way too quick.
