It's that 27 #'s! Climbing a tree with it is like trying to swim with a cinder block tied to your feet. I have one, and leave it locked to a tree and never take it in or out more than 2 or 3 times a season because of its weight. They make the same stand in aluminum....Great comfortable stand...but the steel construction adds a ton of weight. (though it is rated for the heavier guys)
