Is that the porcupine making the clucking noise in the video?

 

Yes, they make that clucking noise when you get close , I don't know if it means there agitated or that's just what porcupines do, they move very slow and are not aggressive!

They are a real treat to release as incidental catches. Have released more than I can remember. They get into alot of my bobcat and coyote sets.

i thought i read one time, where there are porcupines, there are fisher.

Every place I have caught porcupines I have caught fishers. Fishers prey on them and they are a preferred food source for them. Every fisher I have caught has had quills embedded in their face.
