Whats the weirdest fly tying materials you have ever used that has caught fish ??

I have made many, many Hares ear style Nymphs using dog hair from my Chow-Chow.

The Vladi worm made out of latex condoms is unusual but I havent made any.......

Wax worm imitations, made from strips cut from latex gloves.

Used thinly cut strips of chamois cloth attached to a hook, to make imitation worms.

When I was a kid I used to cut the chenille strings hanging from my bedspread. Drove my mother nuts wondering were they were going because they weren't in the washing machine or dryer. I always showed her my creations but she didn't put the two together. I confessed many years later.

The coffee bean beetle. 

 

Glued a coffee bean to a hook. Slam it on water at the Little Lehigh and the trout in the stream think its trout pellets from the hatchery that made it through the discharge pipe.

 

 

 

Yes, it's cheating, but my cousins kid had probably the best day of fishing he'll ever have.

Ive chopped tails off of road kill chipmunks to use.......as well as baby squirrel tails.......

Hair from my orange and white Brittany to make a rusty spinner that catches fish all day long during hatches.  And cork from a wine bottle for poppers.

I was at some artsy crafty show once and they dog hair sweaters for sale.....they used a spinning wheel to make the yarn from the dog hair.....

Cotton balls when I was a kid, I'd catch large Golden Shiners in Clifton to sell to musky fishermen at a buck a piece, poplar trees would drop these cottony looking seeds and the shiners would eat them, around June.
