Little M and Rusty look at him

Recommended Posts

From the direction he is going he is leaving a swamp. It should be fairly wet will all the rain judging by the creek leaving the swamp.

He or she is about 800 feet from water and gaining elevation.

I spent most of my money on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.

The water supply does not need to be drying up for them to go on the move... Not sure exactly why they up and go but I've seen them do it.. Perhaps run out by other big snappers or looking for love..  Snappers have some brutal fights..

Egg laying can extend into the fall and I've seen them travel pretty far looking for a spot to lay their eggs.  We are a few hundred yards from our lake and we have had baby snapping turtles coming down off the hill behind the house.
