Thinking of switching over from a regular trail camera to a cellular style camera. Question is what brand to go with? Reveal, Tacticam, or Stealthcam?

Tactacam all the way.  The app is outstanding,  here is a chart of various models to compare. I suggest camlock boxes with a python lock, & a pad lock screw it to the tree. Small investment to protect the camera from jerks, bears and it does help from the harsh weather

A lot of people knock the spy point cameras but I find them very reliable and affordable. When you have a lot of cameras the yearly club subscription makes it well worth the investment. If I do have issues with a camera they are quick to make it right and it usually means a new camera 2 days later at your door.

Or buy the Tactacam Reveal cams and never need one replaced.

If you only have one cell. Camera that makes sense. When you have 25 it gets a little expensive.

I’m slowly updating my 2.0s and 3.0s to solar with the rechargeable lithium battery that can be recharged by the solar panel. The cams go in lock boxes because of bears.

I agree. I never had any issues with Spypoint. A few years ago, I gave into the Tactacam hype and purchased a few. Had water getting in the battery packs, the camera lens get moisture in them and the night time photos are not great. Sent all of them back and they replaced them. Not impressed with them.

It's not the cameras from Spypoint that's the issue; it's the customer service, maybe they improved. StealthCam / Muddy same company has improved over the years

I agree, I’m not impressed with them either. I don’t think they are any better than most cams out there.

Stay away from stealth cam or anything from the parent company GSM outdoors.  There customer service is the absolute worst.  Never again will I purchase anything from them.

I never purchased anything from them, as far as the cameras, they have improved over the years but in my opinion not for me

If I would’ve had that experience I would’ve stayed with them instead of switching to tactacam. Maybe they changed but there customer service was the worst that being said thre years now with tactacam and I haven’t needed customer service

If the camera works, they work very well. If they don't, throw it in the trash because CS isn't going to help.
