hammer08 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Went out for a last day afternoon sit, which started off on a bad note because I left my field pack at home, which of course contained my slugs and my knife. Luckily I was able to borrow my buddies gun and a knife so I still got out as planned. I saw some moving up across the mountain early on but nothing close. A little after 5, about 4 deer started working slowly down the mountain. The mature ones hung up, but two smaller ones came down within range. The first one stood behind a tree for 10 minutes, showing me only its nose as my finger tips froze. It finally turned and left without giving me a shot. Then, the second one came down behind that same tree, but then made the mistake of stepping out. I finally was able to get the scope on it, and threaded the lightfield between the trees and through it's heart. Dropped in its tracks, and I was thrilled to get my 2nd deer of the year on the last day! Freedom is a light for which many men have died in darkness

Woodrufflou Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Awesome way to end the season "I am the MacGyver of cooking. If you bring me a piece of bread, cabbage, coconut, mustard greens, pigs feet, pine cones...and a woodpecker, I'll make you a good chicken pot pie." — Si Robertson
