I always admired how those rifles looked and they had many features that I wanted in a rifle. I wound up buying a Bergara wilderness terrain and a tikka d18 for similar features and I am very happy with them.

Dont believe the hype .

they also have a 22 series and all of the 2020’s have terrible fit and finish, the accuracy is mediocre at best, and for the price, not worth it.

i agree that any Bergara will outshoot the 2020’s and since they are built off of a rem 700 platform , there are tons of aftermarket accessories to go with them.

I have a new Springfield Waypoint in 6.5 PRC, I really like the fit and feel.  I wanted a 308 but got a great price on this one.  I have a GA Precision in 6.5 PRC so this one might be up for sale.

For the money , i don’t believe you can beat Savage . I know that guys crap on them all the time about being cheap, ugly, etc. the truth is they shoot lights out. I have shot many custom rifles, many high end production guns ( my Seekins was a real tack driver ), sako’s, weatherby’s, tikka’s, custom 22’s ( Vudoo , CZ, Anschutz) and tons of cheaper / used rifles.

Bottom line is some calibers are inherently more accurate in most guns and 22-250, 223, 6mm creed, 6.5 cr, 6.5 prc, 308 all fall into that group.

i just bought this Savage 12 long range. Has an h.s. Precision stock, heavy contour button rifled barrel, and a target grade accu trigger  which is IMO the best factory trigger out there . Will adjust down to 6 oz I believe. I will post some info once i shoot it in the next couple of days.

Here is an older Remington LTR in 223 that i bought used for $600.

with the right ammo it is more accurate than most guns $3000 and up !

the first low shot was a cold bore shot, the next 3 were one hole at 100. Even with the cold bore it shot half MOA , the next three were just stupid !!

This article says otherwise........Savage shot the worst, the Springfield shot among the best.

The Myth of the Sub-MOA Rifle | MeatEater Hunting

I guess a matter of opinion, like most things. I will never own a savage nor ruger rifle again. I do not like the fit and finish of the Savage (though love my 220, which is based on a rifle platform).  I hated my Ruger American rifle, though I am the minority.

Seems most love the bergara and tikka rifles.....do not own either.

I had a contractor that did some work for me who was looking to get paid on the barter system.  He wanted to barter for a mid level, longe range build and left it up to me.  On a recommendation from a well seasoned long range shooter, I wound up buying a Springfield 2020 in 7PRC and with a scope I had planned in advance kept me in budget.  Carbon fiber stock, adjustable cheek, bipods, carbon wrapped barrel, muzzle-break, pretty good looking gun. Gun gets delivered, I surprise him and said your rifles in go pick it up.  Anyway, he drops it off and I had already purchased 34MM Vortex pro rings (been nothing but solid as a rock for me on other builds) and a Huskemaw 5X20X50 Tactical scope (internal level). I mounted it up bore sighted it and thought we would start with Hornady ELDX 175G rounds to see if the gun liked them, I couldn’t believe we found the round first go. This rifle is LIGHTS OUT!! As we broke the barrel in at 100 yards he was basically shooting slight ragged hole groups dead on .75MOA. Brought the Garmin chrono to each session tracking data, 2919 was the avg. velocity, provided the other data like BC, grain, temp, and had Huskemaw burn the double turret @ 3000 and 7000 elevation.  After installing the  turrets and verifying 2&300. It was time to hunt, I watched a buck, doe @360 and coyote drop in their tracks when we took it out.  I have built a number of long range guns and own a few custom builds, Gunwerks, Best of the West, Legendary Arms,  this Springfield with factory ammo shoots as advertised .75 MOA I can vouch for it! Blown away after building it and spending quite a bit more on others for the same results.

Thanks for the response....I hear they are awesome. Glad someone "real" could confirm, besides the reviews I have read. Those ELD-X bullets are great.
