Kids wader recommendations

Plan on taking my son (7) out for his first opening day for trout on the stream. Knowing him, think chest waders are best bet....otherwise he will get wet.

Looking at neoprene for warmth. I looked at two brands: Tidwe & Gator.

Any suggestions or brands you recommend?????

I have had VERY good luck with Hodgman  neoprenes .

not sure if they make youth sizes .

what size shoe does he wear in a men’s size ?

I can't comment on these brands but I have a pair of Cabelas neoprene that you can have.

They are I think boot size 9. I can get you more information if needed. The only problem is I am located in Burlington County.

Hodgman doesn't make youth sizes. He is very little....sz 1. Gonna buy up a sz or 2.

I always took my kids to a stocked pond for opening day.  No waders and room to spread out.  Good luck!

Having been using the tidewe for my daughter last few seasons and they have been great. I probably need to buy her the next size up for this season.

The tidwe arrived today. $77 delivered. Look like they will work!

Put some self taping screws in the tread of the boots 

 

Will aid in walking the river.
