Anybody hunted these properties? How did it work out for you? Any advice on this process?

I have a couple nice pieces down the road from me. I printed off the deer management program information sheet and sent them an email. I'll see how it goes.

I've lost most of my hunting properties in the last few years due to death and sell offs. Hopefully this will work out.

Good luck I have tried to get on them and I do work for them and haven’t gotten on, from what I have been told is whoever hunts the property when they purchase it are the ones who get permission to hunt it.

That is often true with NJCF, but not always.  They do run open hunts from what I know on at least some properties.

I took that phone number down a couple of times but never called, they have a lot of property around our area:up:

I called twice and emailed twice and never got a response. One place costs $65 a year to hunt and figured they’d be interested in money but crickets. I’ll try again when I get desperate enough.

Click on "deer management"...

Gonna cost $115 (75 permit fee, 40 membership fee to get hunters insurance, they won't accept any other insurance)

And they won't reply if they have no open spots. You get put on a list and they will call if they have a spot. Otherwise, you won't hear back no matter how many times you call (according to that document).

---

NJCF gives permission to hunters on a first come, first serve basis. The first hunters to request permission to hunt a particular property will be granted permission. Note: hunters in goods standing that are currently enrolled in New Jersey Conservation Foundation’s Deer Management Program get first priority to register.

...

If the desired property has no open hunting spots, hunters requesting permission will be added to a waiting list. You will remain on the list and be contacted once you are eligible to apply to an open spot. Please note that this may take a season or more depending on popularity of a property so patience is appreciated. PLEASE no repeat calls or emails, you will be informed once a spot has opened up.
