Good stuff. My favorite saying is: "no two shots are exactly the same even if they look the same". Angles created by stand height and target distance make for nuances. Much different shooting a deer out of a ground blind and out of a tree that's 20 ft up. No matter the distance, the horizontal shot from a ground blind is the same. Not so from a tree stand. As it was stated, the more severe the angle, the smaller the kill zone is.

Couple this with the occasional crazy paths arrows take when passing through a deer and it's a lot to consider. .

I don’t do a lot of ground hunting but if I could pick between a 20yd broadside shot at ground level, or a 20 yd broadside shot from a stand I’ll take the shot in the stand. The angle creates a longer wound channel and usually a lower exit wound

But also gives you a much higher entrance hole , where as a shot from a ground blind already starts with a lower entrance.

wound channel on a stand shot deer below midline would also be shorter not longer .

more important by far than length of the wound channel is where it went through

much bigger vital zone from a ground blind also .

better chance to also hit 3 vitals from the ground due to not dealing with angles taking one away .

shoot a perfect pin wheel on a deer from the stand , you possibly only hit one vital if your high in the stand and the deer is close .

a deer dropping , guys not bending  at the waist . Shooting fast side of the wheel shortening their draw

many variables can make one seem greatly better than the other
