Save your money. Why anyone would go to support an Outdoor Show where firearm stuff is banned is beyond me. It's a boating and fishing show primarily now. Years ago it was good

Rockland started out as a freshwater fishing show 50 years ago.

was the biggest locally.

expanded to a fishing /hunting show

now is back to primarily a freshwater fishing show .

as far as fresh water it’s about the best one locally .

its a good place to handle the newest fishing gear from all manufacturers.

.

Wow last time I was at that show was 20 yrs ago ...definitely a waste of time

If your looking for a hunting show it def is a waste .

IF you’re a freshwater fisherman wanting to handle and see the newest year . It’s a cheap day out instead of sitting on the couch .

I would rather drink Mexican tap water then go to that show, far better things to do then to waste time

I would expect that because you’re not a fisherman .

for those not knowing , the original rockland show held for decades  by the company SPORT SHOWS is no longer the show promoter after they cancelled the 2024 show due to not wanting to meet strict requirements by the college .

a different promoter picked started a new show last spring.

This is their second year of promoting the show .

They are trying to promote what was the best fishing show for fresh water in the area hopefully growing it back to what it once was .

success will only happen if they get enough major vendors there to offer those coming to the show enough to look at .

last years turnout was good enough for them to hold it again , and it’s my understanding the majority of bigger manufacturers will be there .

(not sure how true that is because the vendors map only shows table numbers , not actual vendors )

In that case, why don’t they advertise it as a fishing show and not an outdoor show which means hunting and fishing?

Looking at the seminar schedule , it appears they have other outdoor related stuff .

But as said this is only the second year of this show promoter , and the web page really lacks info .

pretty well known the college wanted all firearm related things to stop there , even not allowing pictures etc .

If this promoter goes back to the original shows roots that was freshwater fishing , it’s one of the few in the area .

Seems they have a lot of hurdles just getting people to come out because it’s in the same location as a show that was failing

‘if dealers like Davis or weaknect go back , maybe that’s why they are promoting archery there also .( no idea who is there without an actual vendors list )

And it's Anti 2A at it's roots. I will personally never spend a penny to support it even if I wanted to look at fishing stuff. It's held at a college campus that takes funding from the State of NY. If you want a killer show that has everything you could just about imagine, head to the Harrisburg, PA show. It's a true outdoor show run by the NRA and very 2A friendly

The fishing section of Harrisburg Sucks .

Especially for saltwater .

Saltwater show at the Raritan center is by far the best for that .

Harrisburg also hasn’t really grown in the archery areas .

used to be a lot more Manufactures there , from bows , broadhead , stands etc .

Oddly for such a well traveled show and so much new stuff on the market , stand wise , saddle wise , broadhead etc , clothes , would expect to see more vendors there .

can see more just going to Lancaster
