I took all your advice and I got myself setup for next year even got myself some calls acrylic and wood short and long. Now it comes down to laws and regulations for the seasons. I figured it was probably much like NJ deer season where you can look at it but there’s underlying laws that only people in the sport really know. So what are they where can I get a in-depth version of the laws and what are some that is a must know before I go out

Good luck next season! The laws aren't as crazy as some of the others. Just make sure you have all your stamps and licenses and make sure you only ever have steel shot in possession - I've been checked while waterfowling a bunch of times in just the past couple years... COs are out checking, more so than in past years.

Oh, do you happen to need a bag for any full bodies you might have bought ;)

What's your shot results?

As in in did you take whatever shotgun(s) to somewhere and try different shells..shot size, shot charge weight, velocity, chokes at paper and see what it/they love..like..hate..?

I use BB for goose and #2 for ducks..now i do have a box of #3 & #4  in steel as well that i can pick at for ducks

Outside of the normal safety zones etc a few waterfowl specifics are

-1/2 hour before sunrise till sunset (not half hour after) except in September when you can hunt till half hour after sunset for geese

-no bait

-must use non toxic shot not larger than T-shot in a shotgun not larger than 10 gauge not capable of holding more than 3 shells (in September you can have 7 shells)

That’s the major ones you’re likely to encounter. Now for the more nitty gritty stuff. The ethics behind waterfowling that won’t get you in trouble with the law but will make guys angry.

-plenty of space between you and the next group

-don’t call to birds that are working another group

-don’t shoot at birds that aren’t going to be a high percentage shot
