Is it possible to hunt squirrels with a smaller shot size of steel shot, kind of like a game load type of steel shot?  (Not waterfowl) I know lead is what we normally use but I wondered if that was a thing? We have a long squirrel season here, last until February 22nd. It would be cool to try something new if it’s possible. Also, how does the whole air gun thing work? It says in the book that we don’t need a rifle permit for that right?

You can shoot squirrels with steel shot. Small game rules require no larger than #4 regardless of shot type ... One reason why I like to hunt waterfowl with #4 ... Can use the same ammo for small game and crow after duck season is over B)

No need for rifle permit with air gun. Air gun needs to be .17 or .22 (nothing larger).
