National Archery in The Schools Program, is a great way to get younger people involved in the sport of archery. It is available to grades 4-12 and there is a state NASP tournament every year. I helped run the program for F&W for two years. They will train the teachers for free and they have equipment to lend to the schools for free. I highly recommend this program as part of your children's Physical Education classes. Go to the NJF&W website for more details.

Great program. Been an Instructor for a long time. We also had an after school club because so many kids wanted to be a part of it.

I do a lot of work with kids and coaches involved in NASP being the supervisor of the union county archery range. A few local schools have programs BUT … the school I taught in in Berkeley heights would not allow me to start a program there ! I was told point blank ….no weapons, never bring it up again !

glad I’m retired

There’s the problem the bows that are used for NASP are sports equipment not weapons according to the AGs office. We had that discussion with several schools same argument could apply to baseball bats. Anything used improperly can be a weapon
