Overall a great trip....unfortunately I was the only hunter who had a shot AND I screwed up! Gave a big doe a haircut!!! Grazed it's chest....followed tracks for 500 yds. Haircut and super fine mist of blood at hit site. No more afterwards. Hair had lots of white.

Flintlocks are so fun. 

Lots of laughs & great meals at the cabin. Bottom pic is where deer was, on far side of stream.

My uncle just told me this morning that he is giving me his flintlock. I’ll be out there next year.

My dad had two flint locks . 50 cal t/c hawken and a 50 cal Hatfield long rifle. He sold them both. Wish I had them.

Flintlocks are very expensive these days. Really not many options....Custom made, pedersoli, or kibler kit guns.

My Dad and I traded our flintlocks for TC Hawken cap locks back when Jersey opened a muzzleloader season. I sure wish I still had that gun.

Slim pickings on flintlock rifles....custom guns are over 2k & wait times are ridiculous
