Anyone recommend a charter in Cancun? Emailed DonChingo charters,,,,no reply yet. Hoping to do some wahoo fishing and do a catch and cook. 6 hour trip or so. Not going until December,,,,but starting to look

You can pick up a charter by just going down to the docks. I did it back in 2004 chartered the whole boat and we caught a 27 Kilo barracuda. Sailfish are not around till February or march so do your homework before you go so you know what fish should be around.

You can check with the place your staying.I told the places that I have stayed that I was looking to share a few fishing trips with others to share the cost.It worked a few times.

My boat was supposed to be going for sailfish, but after a while I told the Captain that I knew there were no sails around and we needed to get fishing. He said See Senior and we set up on a coral head starting catching king Mackerel and Barracuda right away made for a fun trip.

Do your research before choosing who to go with, and i advise against just walking down to the dock. Most of these guys just drive you back and forth trolling the shoreline and you're lucky if you catch a Cuda or 2

Best guy to go with is in Playa Del Carmen....Roberto Navarro, strictly jig and maybe pop....youll actually fish and not just go for a boat ride.... Ive caught wahoo and sailfish on a jig with him as well as many other species

Thanks Bowguide,,,,,,,I booked him and he responded. Good time of year for wahoo and queen snapper.
