Trapper Ed Northern Region

Been looking at doing the trapping course for a few years now and finally with having my own property and coyotes showing up around once a week it’s time to actually pull the trigger and do it. Unfortunately online I can only find a course which is full and no courses yet in the northern region. Does anyone know when and if it’s possible to get a notification when the next course becomes available?

I am pretty sure a course will be scheduled in the northern region. Just a matter of time. Maybe in the spring? Yes, you can get a notification by email from NJ Fish and Game. Add yourself to their newsletter.

I’ve been thinking about it myself.  I don’t see myself going full bore into it just yet however I want to be ready when I do.   At least I can have fun and practice  keeping my chicken coop safe.

Did they change the format to only 1 day courses in general? When I checked last year most courses were 2 days.

They will email you a study guide and I believe a quiz

Just signed up. My birthday and a 30 min ride. Can’t beat that.  So now it’s only 1 day can anyone say what we are losing out on by not day 2?  Don’t they normally set traps with the 2 day course?

Outstanding!  Thanks for the heads up!  Just registered. Been trying to get this done for years. Probably guna have to hook up w a veteran to learn more tho …especially since it’s only a one day course. Which is similar to it being like only an apprenticeship trapper license …like the hunting apprentice license that they offer…but at least more people can get into trapping w a one day class then learn from a buddy or something. I could never find the time to complete the 2 day course
