Final day of muzzleloader today and after a week of freezing temperatures why not finish it off with a float trip down the river.. Livesintrees and I head out to explore some new grounds and maybe find some bucks you can't get to from the parking areas..Needless to say we did not make it to the end. 6 hours and we made it 2 miles .A lot of trees across the river and a lot more ice then we though..Left the boat in some farmers field , walked out in the dark and had to have the wife come get us . We did see a buck and muskrat 😂. That's a wrap for 24/25 session.

WOWEE!😲

Youse guys are hardcore to the core!!!

I spent three days hunting in LAC this past week and froze my keister off.  Winds blowing across those open fields were brutal.

Waterfowlers on Stow Creek sounded like they were having some success.

If you’re gonna be dumb you better be tuff! I wouldn’t care if we saw nothing at all. It was definitely an adventure. And something we’ve talked about for awhile Now. I had some thoughts, and some realizations along the way.

1. This is just damn cool

2. If we end up in the drink, we are in real big trouble.

3. Who falls 3 times in a boat and doesn’t tip it? Me apparently.

4. It’s getting dark, when did I last charge this headlamp….never mind I have two more Just in case.

At the end of the day, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I would do it all again tomorrow. Life is about doing shit rather than talking about. I look forward the next time we question our life choices and end the day with a beer. Can’t wait to do it all again. And oh yeah you missed one!

Might be more productive doing a float trip in fall. some beautiful property on the refuge.

Agreed, I wouldnt attempt it with ice on the river, that had to impede travel immensely

We checked the pick up point and drop off and both had little ice on the sides but were open and one of the spots had duck hunters in kayaks out so we did not expect to run in to the whole river being froze up like that. Definitely not going in these temps again haha

I've been to 4 wakes/funerals the last two weeks.

Most people have no clue how to really live.

Good for you guys!!

A video camera on the rear of the boat next time please :happywave:
