Monmouth county. I know it's not the greatest pic but can anyone id it?

They're a bit feisty when you pick them up but otherwise they are harmless.

This sounds like a misinterpretation of what actually occurred by someone who is less than fond of snakes.

Is it possible that they were just swimming and you just happened to be where they were swimming?
