Last Saturday was a hunt I will never forget. I hunted private property I have access to. Snow was on the ground and Black Ducks were falling from the skies decoying perfectly. After hitting our limit we decided to wrap things up around 9:30. I walked back to my truck, parked about 30-40 yards away, put up my gun and blind bag and then went down to that water where my buddy was bringing decoys in. We walked back to the truck and it was gone. Someone had made their way a mile into the woods, waited for me to put my gun up, then stole my truck. I never even heard the ignition. The police recovered it in New Egypt but my gun, blind bag, and all hunting gear was gone. Thank God I ran really late that day and decided to leave my dog behind or she would have been in her kennel inside the truck. Definitely a hunt I will never forget. Be vigilant out there fellas. You never know when someone is watching you, even in the most remote and private locations.

I cant stand thrse creatures

I agree that you dog wasn't there.

The gun is reported stolen so you're safe from any crime if it's used, but I do hope they recover it

Crazy story, good luck getting your stuff back, was the key in the ignition?

I put the keys on the seat when I dropped my gear. That was my only set. I had to change all the locks in my house and now have to re-key the ignition. I've been going to this spot for 3 years and never saw another living soul. I have no idea how they even knew we were back there.

I guess it could have gotten really ugly, if you caught him in the act.

Sorry to hear. People suck. Was scouting yrs ago with my dad on state land. Walking back to the truck we noticed a car by the truck. The car took off as we were walking up. They broke in my dad’s truck box and stole everything inside. Tree stands, climbing sticks, back packs, everything!
