DarthWaderTroj Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Last Saturday was a hunt I will never forget. I hunted private property I have access to. Snow was on the ground and Black Ducks were falling from the skies decoying perfectly. After hitting our limit we decided to wrap things up around 9:30. I walked back to my truck, parked about 30-40 yards away, put up my gun and blind bag and then went down to that water where my buddy was bringing decoys in. We walked back to the truck and it was gone. Someone had made their way a mile into the woods, waited for me to put my gun up, then stole my truck. I never even heard the ignition. The police recovered it in New Egypt but my gun, blind bag, and all hunting gear was gone. Thank God I ran really late that day and decided to leave my dog behind or she would have been in her kennel inside the truck. Definitely a hunt I will never forget. Be vigilant out there fellas. You never know when someone is watching you, even in the most remote and private locations. toxo, Bucksnbows, Rjtfd and 13 others 1 1 14

I put the keys on the seat when I dropped my gear. That was my only set. I had to change all the locks in my house and now have to re-key the ignition. I've been going to this spot for 3 years and never saw another living soul. I have no idea how they even knew we were back there.

archer36 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Thst's horrible. You can never be sure. I hunt private properties and always lock my vehicle even though tresspassers shouldn't be there. Yobuck293 1
electric10162 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 That sucks! What township were you hunting in?
Recurve hntr Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Sorry to hear. People suck. Was scouting yrs ago with my dad on state land. Walking back to the truck we noticed a car by the truck. The car took off as we were walking up. They broke in my dad’s truck box and stole everything inside. Tree stands, climbing sticks, back packs, everything!
Batsto Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) What a scary situation!!! Someone knows the area and has eyes on that spot. By any chance, Browns Mills area? Edited December 28, 2024 by Batsto
thefirstndsecond Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Incredable. That is unreal. What a SOB FPC - "Without either the first or second amendment, we would have no liberty; the first allows us to find out what's happening, the second allows us to do something about it! The second will be taken away first, followed by the first and then the rest of our freedoms." - Andrew Ford
