So..I got busted tonight and this is the third time in my Sitka fanatic jacket. It's always at distance.  Tonight was maybe 60-70 yds thru thicker limbs with maybe a very small open window. Wind was totally in my favor. I've read that it's a close elevated pattern but it's my cold weather jacket. Might have to resort to putting my ASAT camo over top.

Any others get busted at distance in this pattern?

You can wear a solid color and not get busted. Don’t get too caught up in the pattern. Movement, dyes, a lot of other things will get you caught before the pattern.

Yup I hunt a lot this time of year in a solid charcoal wool jacket no problems

I’ve killed a ton of deer in jeans and camo top. I had deer look right past me tonight and I was wearing gray Dickies carpenter jeans and realtree jacket.

Im pointing out this case because it's happened 3 times at distance and I've sat the same stands in other camo (asat, MT-50,realtree) but now it's seems to be a thing. It's a great cold weather jacket and the pattern is intended for late season hunts but i honestly don't get busted typically .

I don't think too much into the type of camo pattern efficency. But I will tell you, I think I get busted less in Sitka Elevate then others due to the lighter colors. I would check to make sure you didn't have anything reflective, like a harness buckle or metal on your stand shinning off the sunlight.

With some of the stand set ups I see in the woods you could be standing out like a sore pecker, if your tree has no cover find one that does. And like others have suggested they might know you're there or the wind is shifting and you're not picking up on it

My bet is the deer smelled you. Many people think the wind direction is all that matters. Look at water moving in a stream or river. It moves around rocks, drops off edges and circles back on itself. Creates swirls and hydraulics when it goes over and around obstructions. That's exactly how air moves going through the woods and field edges.
