Going to eat get dressed and my son and I are heading out to maybe follow some fresh tracks in this snow. Too windy to sit in the stand . Good luck  to anyone else out there today

Got to much to do today with the kids birthday so took a pass. I'll be out Monday and Tuesday. Got a few bucks starting to show back up that made it through 6 day including this one. All the good bucks in this area day lighted a lot on December 1-2 so may have had a hot doe. Hoping for a third round during Muzzleloader to put one of the 3 bucks down.image.thumb.png.159a9783735e413a9323e99521719d2b.png

We are done..bumped  two deer out of their beds  but couldnt catch up to them and once they hit the really thick shit I gave up..moved location seen 4 does but couldn't get a clear shot before they got into the thick brush as well...walking in the snow wiped my son out so we called it a day. Wish it wasn't so windy Id go sit in the stand for evening but the wind is really whipping here so next week .

Sitting in the stand in 35 feeling like the stay puff marshmallow guy. Wanted to go out this morning but was too tired from getting home late from our Christmas party. It was a good trade off though I had a great time last night.

Aim Small Miss Small..........No such thing as a bad day spent hunting.

My best hunt of the year, could only go out until 1030, family commitments.  I still hunted zone 2,  was walking on does for the first hour and a half, then at 9am I see the top back of a deer above the trunk of a fallen tree at about 80 yards, deer's head was down, he turns quartering away and lift his head, big heavy horns but I can only see one side. then he's walking straight away and I confirm he has both sides, it's the 10 point I've been getting on cam but only at night.

My heart is pounding, I just need him to turn slightly, no texas heart shot for me, not on this beauty.  He's walking straight away and the mountain is dropping off, he's going down hill, he takes a few more steps and all I can see are his antlers.  I decide to circle around him as he had no clue I was there and there is just a bit of a rise that I can use to put between us.  I'm approaching the spot I think he is going to be bedded and I bump a spike, spike runs down to where big boy should be bedded.  I take the track and sure enough leads right by a bed with big boys tracks.

They were not that spooked and started walking another 30 or so yards down the mountain, then they take a hard right turn, I follow, right up to the edge of a house that abuts my property.  It was 10am now and the chase was over.  I do believe if I could have hunted the afternoon I would have caught up with him, I think I know where he was heading.

So my heart got pumping and I had a great day, kind of happy I didnt have to drag that guy out,  would have been way late to the family commitment.
