So.. what IS the rule for something like that? We don't have an official season, and I don't even think its listed as a game animal or even a non-game animal in NJ statutes... so... can you shoot it legally???

I don’t think you can shoot it. They would probably charge you with animal cruelty since it’s not in the NJ fish and game digest.

People say the same about a mountain lion, which is frequently claimed to be seen up here in zone 5.  My neighbor claimed to see one in their yard. I don’t believe it

The more our bobcats spread out, the more “mountain lions” people will see or think that’s what they saw.

Is it out of the question that an elk can walk over here from PA? I dunno. Regardless of whether we really do have an elk here, I was just curious... what would happen IF an Elk from PA walked over here? Is it open season???! :)
