Orangeandtealarrows Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 As the description entails. Anyone that has been to Manasquan WMA has seen the devastation that the Mountain Biker community has caused to the Wildlife Management Areas. They have cut trails through all of it and most of the time have the trails within 50 yards or another. Deer bedrooms have been cut out, cover for upland, cover for rabbits, all cut out for bikers to ride their mountain bikes. Last year, I caught and reported a group of them with a chainsaw cutting out a section right next to the pheasant fields dumping trees and weed whacking paths in June. Is this happening everywhere and where is the enforcement to stop the land from modified from the original purpose it was set aside for? Silkcitymedic and Black Bear Bowhunter 1 1

mike033089 Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Columbia wma and white lake wma now have hiking trails with markers through them. I know it’s not the same but it’s just more foot traffic. Next hiker and bikers will complain about hunters while they use the land Silkcitymedic 1
CJ3a Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Report to fish and game, just as bad as ATV’s. Silkcitymedic 1 I spent most of my money on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.

Unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears the state doesn't give two craps and unless it's an easy ticket the will do nothing Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.
KEITH STONE Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Just let them do it.If Fish and wildlife won’t do nothing it’s not worth the aggravation.Ive wasted too much time trying to stop damage and dumping on wmas. Its no longer my problem.🤣

Livesintrees Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 What gets me about this all the time is our licenses and products purchased fund these lands. Yet hikers/horseback riders/bikers etc don’t contribute shit. Silkcitymedic, electricstart, FeniQuest217 and 1 other 2 2
Mixbaghunter Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I believe there is a rule that you are not allowed to cut any vegetation on wma. Not that it matters to them or f&g we need to start fighting for are rights FeniQuest217 1
electricstart Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Go to state parks in Morris ,Warren ,Sussex county on onyx maps .All trails are marked out . Hundreds of them . State allows it . I know municipal and county park I hunt has big signs that say stay on marked trails for bikes , dog walkers ,runners and etc. You still get an occasional stray . Nothing like the state land .

A wma by me has signs that show no atvs at the gate. With 2 openings either side of the gate atvs can go around with tire tracks. A wider gate would have stopped this. Since a fence is to the right and a deep pond to the left.

Silkcitymedic Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Time for land use permits if you dont have a hunting or fishing license. In PA the sgl are used by many hikers. Also there are the mountain bikers who are prohibited. Had a sales women at Cabelas tell me I could drive an atv on any sgl. I told her that was not true and shed kept on. So maybe thats how she sells atvs? Then i had another guy tell me PA has a .24 caliber min for deer? Also not true.
