rocky Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 When most of these so called issues come up they act like they are giving you more than what they are threatening to take away. Then everyone says “ Well at least we didn’t get the worst option possible.” I bet they would be good sheep trainers.

In this case , it looked to be predetermined they were closing striped bass fishing for the months of November and December to meet the reduction . which would have effected Nj fall fishery severely. The amount of pushback got them to back pedal some . This is one of the few Wins for recreational fisherman

I am not against proper fishery management, I am against the fisheries mismanagement.
Surf78 Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 This closure would severely impact the local tackle shops. Thankfully, for now we can fish next fall for bass. hammer4reel 1

Orangeandtealarrows Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Stop letting companies pay to pollute the spawning grounds and estuaries where they grow up and letting other countries travel down the migration path of spawning bass netting all the bunker and in turn bycatch stripers. I bet that would be the biggest change of them all not stopping Joe Smo from catching one slot fish and eating it.

Without viable baitfish , there is def no reason for the bass to be there . fixing the menhaden problems absolutely should on their front burner rocky 1
Zipper Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Yep Dan protect the bunker, and stripers and tuna with thrive. hammer4reel 1 "All men die, not all men really live". WW
